Redstone
Investments is a privately-held Commercial Real Estate Development
Firm specializing in the acquisition, development and management
of shopping centers. Redstone's main office is in Youngstown,
Ohio. It recently opened a satellite office in Tampa, Florida. Redstone Investments, which was formed in 1991,
currently owns and manages more than 3,500,000 square feet of property
located in 13 states with over 300 tenants. Redstone has found particular success with
its focus on increasing property income through its renovation
and expansion programs. Additionally, Redstone has developed office,
industrial, and postal facilities.
Redstone
Construction, Inc.
A
key part of the success of Redstone is its General Contracting
company. In all of its developments, Redstone Construction, Inc.
acts as the General Contractor for all of its construction needs.
Redstone Construction is a full-service General Contractor,
working solely on behalf of Redstone Investments. Redstone Construction
is licensed in many states and has been qualified as an approved
contractor for many national tenants. Redstone Construction is
known for its strict attention to details and deadlines,
completing projects at or under budget, and uncompromising
attention to quality.
Who is
Redstone Investments?
Redstone
was formed in 1991 by two cousins, Jonathan Levy and Lee Burdman.
Both founders grew up in the development business, learning all
aspects of the business while still in their teens. Levy
and Burdman, having worked together in different capacities over
the years in Washington, D.C. and Youngstown, Ohio, ultimately
joined forces in 1991 to start their own construction and
development firm, locating that office in Youngstown, Ohio.
Jonathan
A. Levy began his work experience with Burdman Brothers Companies (a
family-held real estate development firm). While at Burdman
Brothers, Mr. Levy began as a construction laborer and quickly worked
his way up to become a construction superintendent. He learned all
aspects of the general contracting business from the ground up. He
left the business in 1983 to work for Marine Midland Bank where he
was a commercial Real Estate Lender for the Mid-Atlantic states.
He stayed at Marine Midland until 1987 when he and Lee Burdman
started a development company in Washington, D.C. In 1991 Redstone
Investments was formed to handle new development and acquisitions
with a focus on shopping center development. He is a graduate of
Syracuse University, and holds a B.S. in Finance. Mr. Levy serves on the Board of Directors of
Huntington Bancshares Inc., (NASDAQ: HBAN) Previously he served as the Lead Director of
Sky Financial Group Inc. which was acquired by Huntington
Bancshares Inc. in 2007.
He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping
Centers.
Lee Burdman
has a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of
Michigan and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke
University. Mr. Burdman began working at Burdman Brothers as a
teenager. He worked in many areas of the business including
leasing, management and finance. After his graduation from Duke,
he started a real estate development firm in Washington, D.C. with
Mr. Levy. In 1991 Redstone Investments was formed in Youngstown,
Ohio to handle new development and acquisitions with a focus on
shopping centers. Mr. Burdman serves on the Board of
Directors of Cardinal Commerce Corp. and the Regional Board of Sky
Bank. Mr. Burdman is also active in various local organizations,
including holding a position on the Board of the Youngstown
State University Foundation. Mr. Burdman is also a member
of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Bruce Tamarkin, the
Vice-President of Property Management, joined Redstone in 1998. He graduated from Ithaca College with
a degree in Accounting. He worked for nine years for Phar-Mor,
Inc., a deep discount drugstore chain based in Youngstown, Ohio.
Before joining Redstone, Bruce worked for two years with the
Edward J. Lewis company, a full-service commercial real estate
brokerage firm in Youngstown, Ohio. Mr. Tamarkin is a member of
the International Council of Shopping Centers. He also is involved in various community organizations.
Jeffrey
M. Grinstein, the Vice President and General Counsel, joined
Redstone in 2004. Since 1991, Attorney Grinstein has served as
General Counsel and Secretary of American Waste Services, Inc.
and Avalon Holdings Corporation, publicly traded companies based
in Warren, Ohio. Prior to that, he was an associate with the
Youngstown, Ohio law firm of Nadler, Nadler & Burdman Co. L.P.A.
Louis H.
Limongi, the Director of Construction, joined Redstone in
January 2006. Mr. Limongi has been involved in construction and
development for 23 years. Most recently he was Principal in a
multi-family and custom home building company. Prior to that he
was Director of Construction for Spence Management, who owned
and operated Burger King and East Side Mario’s restaurants. His
work included site selection, acquisition, contract
negotiations, zoning issues, and permit coordination from all
government agencies. Lou’s vast experience also includes Senior
Project Management for Hake Corporation, a Mall Tennant and
Shopping Center contracting company.
Mike
Perdew joined Redstone in March 2003 as Project
Manager. Previously, Mr. Perdew served in Architectural Department
of Simon Property Group in Youngstown, Ohio as an AutoCAD
Technician. He was responsible for producing AutoCAD-generated
construction documents for both civil and architectural
disciplines. Mr. Perdew graduated from ITT Tech with an
Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design.
